Check the complete bottle-and-closure interface, the external handling geometry and every tolerance that can change machine contact or finished-pack function.

At minimum, review the bottle neck finish, thread start, sealing land, bottle support geometry, closure internal thread or snap feature, liner or plug, outer grip profile, tamper feature, material, tolerance and drawing revision. For pumps and triggers, include the body, dip tube and final orientation. Is cap diameter enough to specify capping tooling?

No. The same nominal diameter can have different ribbing, skirt height, thread, liner, tamper feature, external profile and material. Tooling must contact the actual closure without slipping, marking or interfering with the functional features.

Can supplier drawings replace bottle and cap samples?

No. Drawings define geometry and tolerances, while samples show friction, rigidity, decoration, bulk feeding, bottle stability and the assembled-pack result. Use both, and keep sample identity connected to the drawing revision.

What if no controlled bottle or closure drawing is available?
