Nominal cap diameter is not enough to confirm capping-machine compatibility.

Machine selection depends on the closure profile and thread, bottle finish and rigidity, liner or seal, tamper feature, filled condition and the way the component must be presented. Production-intent samples and supplier information should be reviewed as one pack system.

Threaded screw caps

Review pickup, square thread start, bottle restraint and the appropriate chuck, spindle, belt or other tightening method. Define how application is approved.

ROPP aluminium caps

Treat cap, liner, bottle finish, top pressure and roller tooling as one system. Include thread, pilfer-band, opening and seal checks as required by the pack.

Pumps and triggers

Add orientation, tube handling and insertion to the compatibility review before the closure is tightened.

Automatic cap feeding

Test the closure in bulk, at low level, during refill, through recirculation and after stop/restart. A part that can be tightened may still be unsuitable for the proposed feeder.

Build the sample and trial matrix

Represent normal tolerances and the formats that create the greatest handling risk.

Supply enough components for setup, stable running, quality checks, fault recovery and changeover. Mark each sample family so results can be traced to the correct bottle, closure and product condition. Where supplier tolerances or multiple component sources exist, include those variants rather than relying on a single ideal sample.
